My name is Katie.  I am twenty years old, and am from Amherst, Ohio.  This past spring I finished my second year at a community college and I am going to take this next year off of school to be a first year missionary to South Africa.  I am so excited to see what God has in store for me this next year and I am looking forward to what He is going to teach me through this awesome experience.  I was raised in a christian family and have always been involved with my church youth group.   During my high school years, I was given the opportunity to go on a couple of mission trips, and ever since then, I have always felt God calling me to pursue more mission opportunities.  I have such a desire to serve God and show others Christ's love and be an example of how God can change the desires of your heart.  I was always extremely shy and never wanted to participate in things that were outside of my comfort zone.  After praying about missions and AIM, God changed my heart and has given me such a desire to venture out and serve Him.  "Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart."  I know that God has given me the desire to pursue missions, and along with that desire, He has given me the comfort and strength to move outside of what is comfortable to me.
